"Hey all, I don't post much, but I enjoy reading everyone else's posts. I've seen people write what the movie means to them so I thought I'd chime in. I'm not looking for sympathy or trying to bum anyone out, it's just my experience. I grew up as an orphan, so I didn't have a family and I still don't. I discovered this movie when I was about 12 years old... I watched this movie thinking that's what a real family should be... I know it's a movie, but I imagine there are real families like them."

Nick continues, revealing his work as a chef won't allow him to join the marathon this Christmas. Still, he finds solace in a simple, heartfelt ritual — coming home to an inspired meal, echoing the movie's touching finale, and basking in the comfort of this "awesome family."
